With
over 20 years of sales, marketing and business/project management
experience, Stuart’s life work has provided a solid foundation for
his work as a coach. As a project manager, Stuart has led many project
teams in establishing and prioritizing goals; developing, implementing
and monitoring action plans; addressing and overcoming barriers;
motivating team members, and celebrating successful outcomes. He
uses these same skills and techniques in coaching individuals and
groups.
Stuart left his role as management coach and project manager with
Group Health Cooperative to begin his own coaching practice. He
helps his clients create more success for themselves by supporting
them as they clarify their priorities and focus their efforts on
what they most want to accomplish. He then helps them be more accountable
to themselves so that the right work actually gets completed. Management
clients are challenged and motivated to improve the skills needed
for managing workloads, delegating tasks, prioritizing and organizing
work, communicating effectively, managing conflict and leading assertively
and confidently.
Stuart earned an MBA from the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management
(honors), a Master of Science in Pharmacology and Toxicology from
Oregon State University and a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Biology
from the University of Minnesota (honors). He is a graduate
of the Coach Training Program at Coach U and a member
of the International Coach Federation. He is a Washington State approved
Real Estate Sales and Marketing Instructor, and a columnist with
the Washington REALTOR News along with numerous other publications
throughout the nation.
Stuart is
an avid biker, hiker, swimmer, cook and outdoor enthusiast. On Labor
Day, Stuart swims across the Columbia River between Washington and
Oregon. Stuart has hiked the canyons of Death Valley, California.
Stuart completed
the 153 mile RAMROD (Ride Around Mount Rainier in One Day) cycling
event on July 28th, 2005. The RAMROD is
considered one of the most challenging cycling events on the West
Coast. Click here for Stuart's story: http://www.stuartkaufman.com/ramrod-main.html.
In November 2006, Stuart cycled 270 miles across the Negev Desert
in Israel. In doing so, he raised over $4,400 for the Alyn Children's
Rehabilitation
Hospital in Jerusalem. Click
here for pictures. He will be participating in this ride,
again in October 2007, with his wife and two sons.
In July, 2007, Stuart cycled 211 miles, in two days, from
