I go to the gym regularly and have created more balance in my life. Taking Wednesday and Saturday off. Creating and following a weekly routine. Only working with clients that I like.

When I met Stuart, I was on the verge of giving up ever finishing my doctoral dissertation. Our first meetings forced me to examine my lack of motivation to write and to recognize the kinds of support I had available. The most important result of Stuart’s coaching was his urging me to have the difficult conversations with my family, professors, and others about my thoughts of giving up, and realizing how important it was to those around me that I not do so.

What was the greatest value to you, in terms of the coaching you did with Stuart?

The outsider looking into an organization so often is able to point out what should be or is obvious to everyone else except to the business owner. In our meetings, Stuart draws out more clearly the costs and benefits of those existing intangible concoctions we call, “the way we do things here”. This gives a valuable new perspective and often the impetus to do something about it.

How would you measure, (quantify), this value?

With an assisted sense of direction there is much less languishing about what to tackle next. I get on with the big important challenges and leave the rest for another day or sometimes for never. By focusing on the important things to me instead of what is important to everyone else, I get what I know and feel is important instead swirling around to the desires of less experienced players. It’s my business now and I run it, not the other way around. I have more time at home, more vacation time, and more freedom to think and plan.

What new skills have you formed/developed that are helping you to be more successful?

Entire systems of project delegation are within my reach. Instead of thinking what to hand off, I’m thinking about the result I want, sharing that picture with my staff, and asking them to delegate back to me only what they think they cannot handle.

What new habits have you formed/developed that are helping you to be more successful?

I now constantly look for ways to delegate tasks and responsibilities. This is a habit which is new and learned with greater depth than I fully understood. The learning has come in the trying and doing and the gentle reminders from Stuart to give as much up as possible.

Describe what you accomplished to deserve an "A" in your coaching program?

I can leave my company for a week or more and know that our customers and employees are being taken care of. I have a system in place that makes hiring office staff a process that does not really require me. I am extending this to loan officer screening and hiring so that I can scale up even when we are busy working in the business as opposed to busy working on it.

Stuart offers a kind and gentle compass to point the way toward your own goals and visions. I have adopted in my own management style many of his coaching techniques and subtle accountability nudges. I achieved personal goals. I have paid down my debt considerably, because it was a stated goal on the worksheet Stuart asked me to complete.

Working with Stuart helped me focus on what is important. Every time I fill out the pre-call prep form, it forces me to focus on successes since the previous session. It helps to be reminded that there were plenty of successes to report from the recent weeks. Furthermore, Stuart picks up on issues and helps me identify an area requiring more attention. Something I may not see as a priority will not be overlooked if Stuart is aware of the issue. That is the benefit of having an objective coach.

I saved a lot more time and mental energy by organizing my priorities which made me more productive and less stressed. I think the two biggest concepts I got from the coaching were the Vision development and the concept of PROGRESS not PERFECTION. This makes everything a lot less stressful for me.

Time Blocking, Constant prioritization of my tasks, reviewing my schedule every night for mental preparation. Overall organization skills were encouraged.

Setting up a system of calling my sphere, following up with personal cards, and sticking to a schedule of calling. I also appreciated being reminded regularly of the value I have to offer my sphere.

I have rekindled relationships with past clients and have enjoyed the process. I am getting several new listings as a result. I’ve developed self-confidence in my ability to offer value.

Scheduling my time in a deliberate manner and entering each task and each “callee” in my Outlook calendar. I have learned to prioritize and systemize. I have identified the individuals who I want to pursue ongoing relationships with, and following up with calls and personally written cards. I have learned to delegate tasks that others can do.

What new habits have you formed/developed that are helping you to be more successful?

I am getting up earlier to attend to the tasks at hand. I have developed a new exercise regime. Every time I talk to someone, I remind them that I am their real estate resource, that referrals are my bread and butter, and that I appreciate our relationship and their business.

Describe what you accomplished to deserve an "A" in your coaching program?

I feel that I have created a SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Time-related) map of specific and achievable professional goals and a game plan of actions necessary to achieve them. I feel I have implemented a good portion of the game plan and shall continue to do so. I have rekindled important relationships which I had neglected and have enjoyed the process.

What was the greatest value to you, in terms of the coaching you did with Stuart?

I am making more money and have much less stress in my life overall.

How would you measure, (quantify), this value?

I work on one hundred percent commission. I have sales/earning history going back a number of years. My sales have increased over 40% since I started working with Stuart. When I look at the graph comparing last year to this year, it is a dramatic increase!

What new skills have you formed/developed that are helping you to be more successful?

There are many. Stuart has taught me to act “as if” I am having a good month (as far as sales) even if I am concerned about it. My stress level has gone way down. I have not had a poor month since I started working with Stuart.

I now begin every day with a plan. I have learned to use and rely on a calendar. I am much more organized and have tools to continue to grow.

Wow, I had to read it several times before I realized that I wrote it in the past about the future. To summarize: I realized that I needed help. I get up early, work smart, work hard at improving, and as a result, I am more relaxed and spend more time with my family.
