Holiday Connecting

As we approach the holiday season, it is an ideal time to Personally Connect with all the people in your Sphere of Influence. These are the people who are most likely to give you their business, and refer you to people they know. In a slow market, your Sphere is your very best source of new leads. When you Personally Connect with people in your Sphere, you are positioning yourself as the #1 Real Estate agent in their mind.

Here are some ways you can personally connect with people in your Sphere during this holiday season:

  1. Holiday Open House – host an open house for all your past clients and important referral sources. Thank everyone for their support during the past year and let them know how important they are to you and your business. Most importantly, deepen your relationships with these key people and have fun! Be sure to personally call all the people you have invited, the week before the event. The purpose is to remind them of the date, place and time, and to get an accurate head count of who is coming. This way you are personally connecting – even with those who don’t plan to attend.
  2. Happy Holidays Phone CallEveryone in your Sphere of Influence deserves a call to wish them a happy holiday. Ask them what their plans are for celebrating the holiday. Let them know that you are there to help them with any and all of their Real Estate needs and concerns. If you get their voice mail, leave a quick (5-10 second) message.
  3. Holiday Gift Drop By – For your top 20-30 clients and referral sources, consider personally delivering a bottle of champagne, or other beverage or gift, the week before New Years. Thank them for their support and wish them a happy new year.

Notice that all of these examples involve personal contact. The reason is that personal contact, with the people in your Sphere, is universally recognized as a High Value Activity. Successful agents know this, which is why they spend much of their time calling and meeting with the people in their Sphere.

So, have fun personally connecting with the people who are most important to the success of your business.
